In cooler zones 4-6, snapdragons are typically planted in spring and bloom through the cooler part of summer before heat causes them to decline. In the warmest zones 9-11, snapdragons perform best as a fall-planted cool-season crop, blooming through winter and into spring, since summer heat there causes them to stop flowering or bolt.

Troubleshooting
⚠️ Plants stop blooming and look leggy in summer heat
Cut back hard by one-third once heat arrives; plants often rebound and rebloom as temperatures cool in fall.

Choose rust-resistant cultivars, avoid overhead watering, and remove and destroy infected foliage promptly.
